COSY WINTER WELLBEING RETREAT

– UK, 2nd to 5th November 2021 –

We’ve created this cosy winter wellbeing retreat for when the weather gets cooler here in the UK as an opportunity to treat yourself, put your feet up and let us look after you. After the year we’ve all had, this will be a space to nurture yourself, where you can unwind and feel completely nourished from head to toe, inside and out. A few days of fresh air, feel good movement, delicious food and more.

Set down a sweeping drive within the grounds of a sprawling 12-acre estate, our retreat home is the perfect marriage of rural meets regal. Within its timber-framed wisteria-clad walls lies a spacious venue hosting a heated indoor pool, sauna and abundant gardens. The house has a lovely homely feel, it’s beautifully bright and sunny for a 17th century timber-framed building. Beautifully redesigned mixing an open-plan layout with traditional features, it creates a feeling of space and flow. You get views from all sides, from sunrise to the golden sunsets.

Join us this November for a cosy getaway to restore and nourish yourself from the inside out.
We’ve created a nurturing and balanced schedule of daily movement practices, local walks, cooking workshops, plant based food and lots more! All of this from the comfort of your very own peaceful quintessentially British holiday home.

THE PRACTICE

We will be offering a mindfully created combination of movement practices throughout your stay.

You can expect daily feel good Pilates classes led by Zoe-Maia, designed to sculpt, lengthen and tone the entire body with particular emphasis on developing your core strength, promoting improved posture, alignment and body awareness.

We will also have a wonderful yoga teacher, Jess Learoyd, leading your through afternoon energising Power Yoga classes following by Yin Yoga, to wind down from the day and promote restful sleep throughout the retreat.

All practices are suitable for all levels and modifications will be provided.

ZOE-MAIA

Zoe-Maia is the founder of MAIA well co., a qualified Holistic Health Coach and Classical & Contemporary Pilates instructor. She began to study Pilates after years of falling in love with the practice and learning first hand of its significant benefits to both the mind and body, following years of burn-out during her previous career in the corporate world.

Zoe’s classes are designed with both physical and mental wellbeing in mind, using conscious dynamic Pilates exercises which focus upon developing core strength, lengthening and toning all muscles to promote improved posture, balance and alignment, whilst using conscious breath-work to facilitate movement and improve flexibility.

JESS LEAROYD

Jess was introduced to yoga by a friend whilst living in Sydney, exploring options to get her body moving in unique ways but also all that came with it, both physically and mentally. She enjoyed offering herself time and space, linking breath with movement and bringing some much needed softness into a busy lifestyle. Four years of practice later, she completed her Ashtanga, Vinyasa & Yin yoga teacher trainings. Within her classes, she will guide you through a strong practice, leaving you feeling centred, fulfilled and energised. Jess is so warm, welcoming and kind and you’ll feel completely at ease and relaxed in her presence.

PLANT BASED FOOD

Nourishing food that makes you feel good is what our retreats are all about.

Our wonderfully talented plant based chef will be cooking three delicious meals per day with sustainably sourced and wholesome ingredients to nourish you from the inside out, full of flavour and vibrancy. All food is homemade from scratch.

For breakfast on winter retreats, we love to make homemade warming porridge with stewed seasonal fruits, crunchy granolas, bircher mueslis, fresh fruits, egg shakshukas, homemade breads, nut butters, healthy pancakes & more. For lunches and dinners, you can expect wholesome warming soups alongside vibrant roasted vegetable creations such as harissa roasted cauliflower with smoked butterbean dips, coal roasted aubergine with carrot top pesto & red pepper hummus, whole baked sweet potatoes with crispy chickpeas, tahini, pear & cabbage slaw… and lots more!

Dietary requirements will always be catered for upon request.

Plenty of time to restore, rest and take time for you… read a book, swim in the heated indoor pool, walks in the local grounds, breathe in the fresh countryside air or relax in the cosy lounge by the fire.

Not included:
Transfers, travel insurance, alcohol. For hygiene reasons, we now ask all our guests to bring their own yoga/pilates mat.

LOCATION

On the Map: The manor is located in the village of Shocklach, just 12 miles from Chester

By Car: 25 minutes from Chester, 40 minutes from Crewe, 75 minutes from central Manchester or Liverpool and 3.5 hours from London

By Train: The best and most direct station is Chester or Crewe, with regular train services from/to London and the rest of the country (just 2 hrs from London)

By Air: The nearest airports are Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon, an easy one hour drive away
